Masthead: Special bold dark pink/Red font. The colour red is often used to represent passion, and can increase physical energy, vitality, stability and stamina. The colour Pink is often affiliated with feminism and can sometimes be seen as a stimulating, artistic colour.
The main picture is of a young, slim, female model in exercise clothing, which gives most women something to aspire to when seeing it; also wearing pink too. The picture partly covers the masthead.
Some of the cover lines are written in bold, black arial font, and one of them say 'YOUR DREAM BODY' in capitals, diverting your eyes to that first, clearly means that it should be at the top of your priorities to look at. There is also an arrow pointing towards the main picture of the model, almost telling the reader that 'this' is what your 'DREAM BODY' should look like.
Another attention seeking factor would be the 'Get Fit FOR FREE!' in red surrounded by a yellow circle. Exlclamation marks connote excitement and the word 'FREE' in capitals and red provokes energy.
The barcode tends to be at the side or at the bottom of a front cover, so that it isn't in the way.
There's a round blue circle on the top right, which stands out for it's unique look yet it contains content about sex, which is seen as more explicit content.
